Microsoft Publisher Reflection
This module was fun and useful, each project pertained to my future career. I can easily see myself using Publisher for creating awesome teaching aids, handouts, and so much more.
I am an artsy person, and Publisher allows me to be creative in creating useful projects. When creating the certificate the template allowed for easy customization making it a great tool for setting up rewards to reinforce good behavior and recognize outstanding character.
The greeting card and advertisement offered great scaffolding for parents, volunteer, and colleague interactions. Forming a good bond between each member of the student’s support system is crucial to their learning process. A great way to do that is to let them know you appreciate what they do to aid the student’s learning process. A thoughtful card or handout can be a great way to show how much you care.
Lastly, the calendar and flyer are both great tools for teachers, students, and parents alike. The calendar can be used to keep parents up to date on the events, homework, and more that the teacher is planning. For the student it helps to reinforce punctuality and aids in remembering important due dates and such. In the case of the teacher it can help keep life a little more on track, in the classroom and beyond. As for the flyer it can be used to announce classroom events or to create instructional aids for station activities.
Overall Microsoft Publisher is a well-rounded program, that takes from other Microsoft programs to make a more specific and useful application. It is a very useful tool for teachers to create a fun and educational environment for students, in and out of the classroom.
